Oh well it’s the 100th public post for the blog. A small milestone for an insignificant blog which has seen its first post on 14th June ’08. And I see that the general ‘theme’ of the blog changes according to what I’m going through (duh, that’s the point right). It started out with loads of my griping about the job, then more griping about the gahmen, then griping above school life. Occasionally posts about the kitchen misadventures pop out or random emo-ness, the latter appearing a little more often these days. Bah. But 100 posts. Almost half a year. Can’t really say this blog has come a long way, but well, better then irritating blogs that are there taking up space and blocking out certain domains. Maybe I’m still peeved about losing out on the forrestal.wordpress address. Come to think of it, there’s so much griping it should be gripegripemawaru instead of guruguru.

Home alone life is not too bad if one doesn’t mind the chores. Quite tired today after cleaning the floor and going for a run after that. Speaking of running, I’m getting back to being good friends with the chinup bar across my door again. As well as that area of the floor right beside my bed which is nice for situps and crunches. Looks like it’s that time of the year for me. Hopefully I can bolster my bank account with 200 bucks. (Just getting back what belongs to me before the gahmen loses it). Even with that said, please still donate generously to the Save-Jim-Fund. Dial 1900-SAVE-JIM for a donation of 100 bucks. Call my mobile for any sums higher. No tax exemption though.
Now the gahmen is trying to make sure casual and contract workers are getting treated fairly, like employers complying with labour regulations and CPF contributions. Smells like a scheme to make sure no one escapes CPF. Notice the campaigns recently to get people to transfer to the Special Account? Wonder why the gahmen is so keen to make us lock up more of our money for them to invest lousily. They might as well just scrap the Ordinary Account. It only encourages people to buy affordable HDB flats.
Anyway, a 100th post would be boring without pictures as far as this blog is concerned (c= and so here is the dinner for tonight, linguine in mushroom sauce (Mk II).

Got tired of angel hair. And the linguine was lying around for too darned long. And the leftover sausage and mushrooms will make a good breakfast tomorrow as I try to get rid of the garlic wraps and mushroom ham (ooh more mushroom).
Seems like there’ll be a trip to jaybee tomorrow. Hope to get some clothes (consider it CNY clothes) and chocolates and presents for the good boys and girls (only the good boys and girls, pandas not included). Hope to get some shopping done since I don’t think I’ll have time to make a trip up again soon, and this time I’m armed with a warchest (mom dialled 1900-SAVE-JIM). Ahaha. Oh, there’s a KL trip over the new year though, with Hsien and guys. Countdown in KL perhaps. Seems interesting. And back just in time for the bidding wars.
Was told to prepare for CS1231 and CS2100. Anyone who wants to pass/sell me their textbooks?
Bah, so depressing. It’s supposed to be vacation.

League Cup will get interesting. Hopefully Spurs make it to the final. But then again, they will have to retain the trophy to get to Europe next season. Unless they changed the rules, the runners-up don’t get the ticket if the winners already qualify for Champions League (like in the case of the FA Cup). Bah. Quite a good run with only a couple of losses and Spurs are still 15th. They’re out of the relegation zone, good thing but it’s still too darned close.
Wonder why the topic suddenly went to football.
Oh. Finally watched Clone Wars (the Star Wars animated flick) and it was well, okay. They looked.. weird. And the story wasn’t that excellent. Straightforward and perhaps aimed at the younger audience. And the lightsabre duels just don’t look as nice without real life people. Caught another movie, Bolt last week, and it was quite nice. Towards the end it got predictable but it’s a good story all the same. Perhaps these 2 are about the same story-wise, but perhaps because as a fan I was expecting something great out of Clone Wars and hence the disappointment and lower opinion.
See, expectation is never good. Or might as well link it to hope, pride and all the other things. Dooku did say twice the pride, double the fall or something to that effect to Skywalker.
But how can I not hope.
Do you know the story of Sam and Joanna?
And the song she sang at the end?
